The Wisdom of Fatherhood
A father lives a busy life. The responsibility of being a good provider weighs heavily on him. He must work for the present, while planning for the future. Fathers can get so caught up in earning a living that they forget to create a life. A popular cartoon called The Family Circus illustrates this point. The father is at his desk pouring over the bills, when his son, baseball mitt in hand, says, “Anytime you’re ready Daddy, I’ll be sitting outside growing older.”
It takes God’s wisdom to keep our priorities in order. Make time for the most important things in life, like spending time with your children. Before you know it, they will have grown old.
“Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.” (Proverbs 3:13-14)
