Most of us have been raised on the assumption that seeing is believing. It’s an idiom or expression that means if you witness something yourself, you’ll believe it exists or is true, even if it’s highly unusual or unexpected. Basically, this expression emphasizes the power of firsthand experience in shaping our beliefs. When you see something with your own eyes, doubt tends to fade away! At least that’s how most of us react to the world around us.
Of course, there are some who are wired differently. They SEE, but they don’t see. They see, but they choose not to believe. They prefer not to let what they see have an impact on what they believe. They prefer to stick with their own truth. I get it, because after all, I’ve never seen Jesus Christ in the flesh, but I believe in Him!
