I shall presume that most of you already know a lot about Nicodemus. For instance...
You already know that Nicodemus was a respected rabbi.
You already know that his nighttime visit was most likely to avoid Sanhedrin scrutiny.
You already know that his rabbinical training was thorough…he was no dummy.
You already know that he was more than just curious; he wanted real answers.
Of course, Jesus knew just where Nicodemus was in his understanding of the scriptures.

And Jesus knows about our understanding of the same scriptures. He knows that many of us go through the motions of faith...
We go to church on Sunday.
We pray before our meals.
We read the bible…occasionally.
We sing in the choir.
We serve in various ministries.
We dress modestly.
We harbor no ill feelings.
We fellowship together; especially when it’s a chicken dinner.
And we give our tithe and our talents…when we can.
But is that all there is to faith? Of course not!
