Writing a Black History sermon is always challenging, and not because there is little to talk about. On the contrary, there is a voluminous amount of material from which to draw information and valuable insights. But trepidation keeps us from addressing the full truth of our history. In spite of our accomplishments, there has been much suffering. And we don’t talk enough about the daily terror and vulnerability that our Black ancestors faced.
