Would you like to be perfect? I bet a few of you are thinking “I already am!” But for most of us, perfection is evasive. It’s not that we don’t try. It’s just that we have limits, not just to our talents and abilities, but to things like patience and humility.

For us, perfection is more of a journey than a destination. It’s about continuous improvement and striving to be the best Christian we can be. Even our mistakes can be steppingstones to a more perfect relationship with God.

There was once a man who wanted to get through one entire day without sinning. Time and again, he failed. But the day came when he thought he had finally accomplished it. His last thought that day was how proud he was to reach perfection. And that was the spoiler. Pride goeth before a fall.

We can’t be perfect. Only God is perfect. But we can be perfected by God through Christ. That provision of God will never change because God’s character never changes.
