"Homelessness is a big problem, not just here, but all over the world. In case you haven’t noticed, economic pie slices are not doled out in equal portions. The rich get rich while the poor get poorer. Some get nothing more than crumbs. And when your crumbs run out, you end up homeless.
I saw a woman I’m guessing was about 50 years old, sitting on a bus-stop bench, wrapped in two blankets, with all her worldly goods piled around her. She happened to be in a town that made provision for the homeless. All she had to do was flag down a passing police car and ask for a free ride to the shelter, where she would be guaranteed a bed, healthcare, warm clothing, three meals a day, and help to get back to being a functioning member of society. But sadly, she preferred the blankets and the bench.
Don’t frown too much over her. There are plenty of people living in HOUSES, who are just as homeless. They journey through life on their own, with the limited function of their mind and body, ignorant of the fact that they are hauling their soul around like ..."
