We are coming to the end of this midterm political season, and my mailbox is glad. It has carried the weight of postcards and letters from people I don’t know, who don’t really want to know me. They just want my vote. The mail all reads in analogous or similar fashion.

“Vote for a better tomorrow!”
“Vote for integrity and honesty!”
“Vote for experience!”
“Vote to make everything great again.”

The email INBOX is even worse. Candidates all over the country have been begging for our dollars, as though we have overflowing pockets of money and we can afford to contribute to all fifty-two states. And I can assure you it won’t stop after the mid-term election. It will only get worse as we approach the general election.

What should we do with all that mail? Should we ignore it and toss it in the garbage? What is our duty as Citizens of God’s kingdom when it comes to government?
