Come Out the Wilderness

Exodus 20:16-17
Black History
Three Point

"I remember an elder in our church, Mother Lila, who used to tell us, “Baby, the wilderness ain’t just a place, it’s a process.” She’d say it with a knowing smile, rocking in her chair, Bible in one hand, tambourine in the other. “I’ve been there,” she’d whisper. “But the Lord brought me out.” She wasn’t talking about geography. She was talking about grief. About poverty…about broken promises, and broken systems. About the long, dry places where hope seems to evaporate. And yet, she’d always end with a song: “Come out the wilderness, leaning on the Lord…” That’s our story. We are a people who’ve at times wandered, but we’ve never been abandoned. We are a people who’ve suffered, but never been severed from the Savior. Today, we’re going back to Ezekiel’s vision to reclaim our roots and rise again. "
