Standing on the Promises
Isaiah 43:19
New Year
Three Point
"Everybody likes new beginnings. They shimmer with possibility. But let’s face it. They often arrive hand-in-hand with apprehension. Like sunrise breaking over unfamiliar terrain, the dawn of something new can stir excitement and fear at the same time. We celebrate the idea of fresh starts…a new year, new jobs, restored relationships, spiritual renewal…but when we are faced with the unknown, our instincts often retreat to routine. And we get stuck in patterns…not because they work, but because they’re predictable. We prefer routine to change, because change asks us to walk without seeing the whole map…to trust, to move, to believe. And that’s scary.
Look at Isaiah’s prophetic wilderness...."
