"In this season of remembrance, we gather not only to honor the legacy of Black faith, but to confront the reality that the struggle is not over. We are living in a time of economic upheaval, where the cost of living has outpaced the wages of dignity. Families are choosing between medicine and meals, between rent and rest. The dream of stability feels distant, and survival has become a daily negotiation. We are living in a divided nation, where truth is contested, compassion is politicized, and unity feels like a relic of the past. The noise of conflict threatens to drown out the melody of justice. And yet, in the midst of this dissonance, we remember: we’ve come this far by faith."
