Service, Sacrifice and Surrender

John 15:13
Memorial Day
Three Point

"Today, on this Sunday morning, we gather not merely to celebrate our Lord, Jesus Christ, but to honor a holy legacy…for tomorrow is Memorial Day. Memorial Day is more than a moment of silence…it is a summons to remembrance. It calls us to pause, to ponder, and to proclaim the worth of lives laid down in love. From battlefields abroad to quiet corners of community service, we remember those who gave not just their strength, but their very breath, so that others might live in freedom.

Jesus said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” In these words, we hear the heartbeat of heaven echoing through human history.

They speak of Service…the active offering of one’s time, strength, and gifts.
They speak of Sacrifice…the cost paid, often in blood, for the good of others.
And they speak of Surrender…the spiritual yielding to God’s will, even unto death.
This morning, we don’t glorify war, but we do glorify love…the kind of love that kneels to serve, stands to protect, and bows in surrender to a higher calling."
