The Foolishness of Preaching
Do you love a good sermon? Preaching is meant to accomplish something in the lives of believers and unbelievers. In the life of the unbeliever, preaching is meant to prick at the sinner's conscience until he confesses, repents and accepts Christ as his Savior. In the life of the believer, preaching is meant to act as a map to help saints navigate the temptations and pitfalls of this life, on their way to eternity. There's something about a powerful sermon that cleanses the soul. It erases the accumulation of disappointments, frustrations, and fears that asphyxiate us and render us immobile and unmotivated. Sermons are inspirational, stirring, moving, rousing and encouraging.
